There should be 3 wires 2 go on the large "MAIN" post and the small one on the terminal marked S
The terminal marked R should have no wires going to it in a G-Body

my starter has 3 post and i got 4 wires for some reason
Simple answer is it sounds like your connections to the starter arent right.. But honestly there are super easy ways to test all this with a volt meter a few minutes of time and a second set of hands to turn the switchyep shim it
it worked fine until the other day. that when it stopped turning over and i got a horrible grinding sound. once i get home i will post a pictures of the wires thatbi have
So I have had a similar problem, but my engine will spin for a little an also is very slow, I changed a cam and I've gotten the starter tested and the guys say it's good but when I put it in it won't crank I have a red top optima battery and it's not bad my starter did work before but now it's not I don't get i but my starter only has one where the positive and negative go together, is that right? There should be 3 wires 2 go on the large "MAIN" post and the small one on the terminal marked S
