I guess you were wright. If the Holley Sniper you want is not in stock you will have to wait weeks I guess.

I'm not as dumb as I look sometimes  I would think longer than weeks though because last I heard was almost 200 backorders and each new shipment only had like 20 pieces that were coming like monthly.

Didn't do anything to the car itself, but did stuff for the car. I was digging around in the garage, and found the p/s bracket that came off the blue '76 350 when I got it. I kept the V6 bracket for simplicity's sake, but it's rather large and gangly, and still has provisions for the smog pump. I'm gonna try and adapt the 350 bracket to the V6 pump. Also for funzies I remounted the aluminum alternator bracket along with the p/s bracket and sat an alternator on there. My whole goal is to make it look like it came in the car from the factory, and this alternator bracket plays a part in that. And it'll allow me to have AC again. If Buick stuck with it back in the day and still made a V8, I think they would've used a lot of stuff from the 3.8 on the 5.7 and vice versa, considering that's partly how they made the 3.8 in the first place. I for one, would love to live in a universe where the GNX was a 400hp intercooled SFI turbo monster with 8 cylinders. Anywho, that's pretty much all I did today. I cleaned the bracket up a bit on the bench wire wheel, and it says
FABCO
MADE IN CANADA
I thought that was kinda neat. Never heard of FABCO before.

I used the factory V6 brackets so I could have AC. It may be different on the 350 but on the 455 I had to shim the alternator bracket and water pump pully for correct belt alignment. You have to be careful with a flat hood as that bracket comes close to hitting, at least mine did. The smog bracket I took a sawsall to. Dosent look too bad. One other thing, with mine i used the V6 oil filter adapter with a PF52 filter. Its on a different angle than the 455 one and i suspect the 350 piece as well. I know of one guy with a 455 who had to cut the filter off to change it because of this, too close to the frame.

Haven't done much. She's just waiting for old man winter to finally go away. Still have to chase an electrical problem that's draining the battery overnight. Found one of the draws. Turns out who ever wired up my electronic choke, wired it to a 12v constant. Fixed that, but there's still something else drawing power. Previous owner I guess didn't understand how 12v systems work lol. Seems every wire they touched is wired wrong.

Body back on frame! I feel fortunate that everything lined up nicely. I had four body mounts on the frame that I had to redo and two on the body..Full steam ahead! timo22

Washed it. Driving next 2 days. Tomorrow poker night, Friday lunch with work buds and date night with wife. Nice days and dirt road not bad. Got housing for rear end swap yesterday. If CEO knew there was a rear end housing in lobby at work he may have flipped.

Hey thanks for the offer. Should be good to tackle it on my own. 12 volt used to be my thing back when I worked in a custom shop. Just haven't had time to get into it over the winter. Been tied up with work lol

I have been restoring an old 1970's West German woman's touring bicycle my Mother-in-law used to use. When she passed her similarly old lady neighbor used it until she passed. It was in pretty good shape so I fixed it up and gave it to my Daughter to use. It actually has a Sturmey-Archer 3 speed internal shifting hub and is quite a solid ride. So of course I stuffed it into the back of the Bonnewagon to make the trip. Reason #99 why I keep this wagon around.... .

the 3.8 stuff lines up good on the 350, I do need to grab a set of V6 pulleys (water, crank) when I have the money, if I can't find some in my garage. I have like 5 pulleys, all buick. Two of em will probably end up working. And yeah, I haven't installed the bracket on the engine in the car yet. there is enough meat on the bracket there to trim and still have it be structurally sound, but I'd rather not if I don't have to. Got plenty of filter clearance as well. I use a Bosch 3423, or the similarly sized ACDelco interchange pf61, kinda depends just what store im at buying oil.
