Spent the night sweating my marbles off in the garage trying to program that key, stupid GM and their turn the key and wait ten minutes to hear a beep. Low and behold after 2 attempts and much more than 20 minutes I had to give up defeated assuming that the battery is dead in the new fob. Contacted the Ebay seller, he originally said he could refund me or send me a new one. I ask for a replacement and now he has to wait to get a new shipment likely next week

It may require a scan tool to program it. I can easily program a new fob on my 08 Sierra but could not on mom's 13 Impala.

I know it can be done that way as well, but as long as its a GM key and not the Chinese knock off they say you can just follow the programing of turning it to on for around ten minutes when it beeps turn it to off within 5 minutes then back on within 5 seconds of being off. Then something else I didn't get to because it didn't beep the first time

I hope it works out for you. On mom's car, the seller I bought the fob from indicated I could program it myself, which I was accustomed to being able to do on my 2008 and several older vehicles. On the 13, it was a no go. I ended up paying a local shop to do it, which I wasn't that happy about.
