I thought the same but really like it. 👍👍
I'm 'torn' about mine.
Knowing how GM prepped this era of vehicles before putting the top material in place has me concerned about corrosion lurking under (or always potentially being an issue). That has me wanting to nix mine in favor of fully sealing & painting it. Once protected, I could always do a vinyl wrap for the area if I wanted that old school look.

I know I’ll need to work the upper “C” pillars when it comes off for paint. I will probably need to put another one back on because I don’t think I’ll be able to body work it good enough to not have one.

Got my new head unit Friday so started into it some Friday night and realized I had to rewire in a new plug since it was the same connector but pinned differently. Then saw that I only had 2 of the solder heat shrink connectors, so waited for the next day to run down the shop and take a couple. Then once I was into it i realized I wanted to rewire part of the lower since the last time I was out my upper unit went out and then my audio wasn't coming through on the lower. Once I had the lower unit out I realized I didn't have the amp wire done in the lower but it was run into the upper by my buddy who was helping me wire while I did the interior work. So remedied that, then it led me to want to adjust some other stuff on the lower since for some reason the USB plug in the center console no longer worked. That turned out to be the connection further up was partially not connected even though I had taped them to together to keep it from happening. Got that squared with also reinstalling the wireless charger now that the new unit has fast charging. So then was just wrapping up adding the apps to be controlled by the upper unit and connecting them through bluetooth, the Edlebrock and my headlights worked pretty quickly but the Ridetech is still fighting me so I decided to just put it all back together and figure it out by reaching out to them to see what else I can do.

Had it towed home...

Old starter quit, and I lost my park/ headlights & cigarette lighter. Lighter has no power coming out of it but may be receiving it, headlight switch does have power & operates interior lights, fuses all good- need to probe each contact though, grounds & wires by headlights are all present and tight. Starter gear simply ate itself.
