Thanks for the replies and options you all have proposed guys. It sucks, but it is what it is at this point. It’s not totally off the table as a viable option right now, but with the current outlook it’s not real promising or likely that the kids will return to school before the car is ready to shoot.
I stopped in at the other customers that I mentioned I was in fairly tight with yesterday afternoon, and had a short sit down discussion with them regarding my little dilemma. Long and short of it is, they’re absolutely willing to let me spray my own car in their booth on a weekend, but I’m just not real sure about the dollar figure they want for using their booth.
I’ll be bringing and supplying all my own tools and materials including paint and masking supplies, doing all the work myself, they’ll be responsible for absolutely nothing but providing the booth. The $$$ they threw at me is $500 for two days. $250 a day JUST to use their booth, during non-production hours, and more than likely the majority of the first day would be just to get it masked up and ready to go.
I dunno, but it sounds a bit steep to me no? I mean I won’t even be using any of their heat or electricity really the first day. And NONE of their paint or supplies. I like to hear your guys’ thoughts on this.
I still have the 2 other options to pursue, so I’d be interested to know how much they’ll want for the same thing. Who knows, maybe it’ll be around the same, but as of right now I have nothing else to compare that $500 figure to.
What do y’all think??
