I think you're being a little too hard on yourself Jared....from what I can see it looks really good! It's all going to come together nicely when the engine gets put in.

I agree with Kevin, I think you’re being a bit too hard on yourself. But I get it, we’re each our own toughest critics. From what I see, everything is looking great. I especially love the attention to detail in all the fasteners being the proper colours and finishes. You didn’t just cover everything in the same colour.
At the end of the day, as long as it satisfies your own wants and needs, that’s all that matters.
Keep up the great work. I’m extremely happy to see you finally working on your own stuff, making great headway, and looking great on top of it all! Two thumbs up buddy!
Thanks guys! I'm probably coming across the wrong way. I do have a tendency to be a perfectionist and be very demanding of the work that I do. All I'm saying is this doesn't compare with many of the builds on here (Donovan, Danny (Hafrod), etc.) or Dad's car or Sean's car for that matter. All you have to do is look on the other side of anything that I painted black to see dirt and crust (front of core support, inside frame, etc.). The pictures are really kind to it. When you look at it in person you can see brush strokes. There are some runs. There are some drips. Does it look bad? No, I don't think so. Does it look better than what I started with? Hell yes. Is it show quality? No. Nowhere close. It is fine for a driver though.

Donovan, I appreciate you following along and chiming in. Getting praise from you really counts for something. You do some of if not the nicest work on here and that I've ever seen. Period.
I have seen a lot of threads that say "I'm not sure how I missed this thread" and always wondered how. Now I have to say the same thing, how did I miss your build when I see you everywhere on the forum?

And to answer the question, "who does enjoy cleaning/scraping/sanding?" I am that weird guy that enjoys cleaning, painting, scraping, and making it look better than it ever could have been from the factory. Apparently, you do too.

Thanks! It's nice to have you aboard. Your car is one of the high end builds I'm referring to and I've really enjoyed following along with it. Part of me would love to do a frame off on my car and put it on a rotisserie but I don't have the time, mental capacity, place or sheer determination to see something like that through in this stage of my life. The frame off restoration is good for my OCD though. I like the elimination of all the rust, dirt and crust.
Jared it's looking great your making progress and that's way more than I can say for myself. All my cars are spending this winter in the snow and ice and going backwards. Your headed in the right direction just keep going you got this
Thanks Eric. What your winter is to you is what our summer is to us. When it is 100 outside with the dewpoint in the 60's, I have no desire to be in the storage working on the car. Sweat just pours off of you. Now that it's cool I can dress appropriately and I have a small electric space heater and it stays pretty comfortable. After being off of the project from May until November, it's great to be back on it. I intend to push hard all winter, into spring. By May, the dance will be over and it will be what it will be until the fall. Hang in there Eric. It will be springtime before you know it and you'll be able to get back on your projects. I've really enjoyed your thread on the crew cab. I hated how much trouble you had with the Cutlass but don't feel bad. We all go through it. You have to enjoy the good car days to help you through the bad ones.
I'd have never thought of brushing the paint, but the results speak for themselves! This dumb redneck approves!
Thanks Ken. I appreciate it. I don't want to spray any paint in the storage for a number of reasons. One, I don't want the place stinking of paint and me making a nuisance of myself and getting myself kicked out of there. The Rustoleum doesn't have a ton of smell to it. Two, I don't want overspray on the car, the floor, and everything else in the storage (tools, parts, etc.). I just don't want to deal with the mess. Three, the walls don't completely seal with the ceiling and each other so there are small gaps between my unit and adjoining units. I don't want overspray finding its way onto other folk's stuff and I don't want their stuff stinking of paint so this is the path I chose. Thanks for checking in and thanks for the kind words.
