Fired the car up by dumping a little fuel down the carb. Need a fresh battery, since I’m out of side terminal ones, then I should be able to get it run. Still have to clean up the wires under the hood, among other things, but the goal is to get it to move under its own power. That’s a big step, considering this car has been off the road since 97, and been sitting engineless for almost 10 years.

Got a battery in tonight, and the fuel lines connected. Turns out the carb I got from my neighbor was a little gunked up and needs a rebuild. It’s still better than the 2 I had on my shelf, that also need rebuilds. I was able to get the engine to run, albeit poorly, on its own fuel supply.
I’ll probably rebuild the carb, slap the hood on, and leave the car outside. Time to jump on the 62 vette.

Unfortunately the GP got kicked outside. Long day of filling and sanding capped off by priming today at the shop. Hopefully I can get my butt off the couch now to rebuild the carb so I can drive the GP in, rather than pushing it.

Not getting the vette body until next Saturday, so I have a little time to work on the car. I rebuilt the carb and reinstalled it today. My neighbor came by and we got it running. I think I’m one or two teeth too far retarded on the distributor. I still have to install the exhaust, fill up the coolant, and install the fan, so I didn’t run it too long. But it did run, and it started up pretty easily after I shut it off.

I drive the car in the garage today. First time moving under its own power in who knows how long. Last registered in 98. Time to tighten up some loose ends under the hood, throw the exhaust on, some better wheel, insure it, and take it for a spin.

So I put the exhaust on tonight. Unfortunately the pypes violater mufflers are a bit too loud for a stock 350 Chevy. Looks like I’m in the market for some new mufflers.

Bolted the exhaust up tight tonight, still dumping in front of the rear axle though. I pulled it out of the garage, and I was surprised by how much quieter it was when it wasn’t leaking. I put the front formula wheels on the rear for now. I can’t run the full set until I get spacers. Once I get them, and hook up the power booster, time to drive. Can’t wait.

It's cool to see this one getting back on the road.

Insurance is on. Wish I didn’t have to work late tonight, so I could finish up under the hood. I want to drive it.
Also needs a serious altitude adjustment once I get the full set of wheels on.
