They do look good on your 'Bu but I still think that interior would look better in my Monte.

Also managed to divert some time away from the press and applied it to my rocker panel/A pillar project on Project Regress
So to make sure that they would eventually play nice once they both were hung, I chose to test fit the lower section of the passenger A Pillar that I need to replace to the new outer rocker panel for the Monte. Doing so gives me a better sense of how they all come together and how deep I will have to insert the panel into the pocket on the A-pillar to get the alignment correct. The same holds true for how the rocker panel gets located in the front pocket of the rear quarter panel,. Most of that has aleady been cut away and there are pictures of that work somewhere around here.
Just to give those who have not happened to have had the fortune to do this kind of work some idea of the size of things, from the point where the B pillar drops down to sit on the rocker panel to the leading edge of the A-pillar is around 60 inches or a hair or two short of Five Feet. Remember my comment about never having enough pairs of vicegrips? Here is why. You'll need most of them to hang sheetmetal when the panel is this long, just to make sure it doesn't fall out of alignment just because of its own weight and mass.
Just a close up of how the A-pillar overlaps the rocker panel. You can just about see how the rocker is actually stepped down/in at that point so that the A-pillar will sit down and in on it to form a smooth surface against which the lower edge of the door will walk over once installed and aligned.
The factory got to do this on an assembly line; lucky me, I have a shop floor!

Funny thing, I was trying to buy a set way baxk when they were new for a different coupe I had, but local guy could never get them. Discount tire had them listed, but were always on back order. I moved on and then a couple weeks ago this set turned up on Marketplace. I wasted no time and took an early lunch and grabbed them. First FB win for me, it's usually full of flakes.
Went on a nice twoish hour drive yesterday while the future wife was visiting her dad. was nice.
Today, messed with the console some more. its not shaping up too shabby. i only have a jigsaw to cut with for now, so there be some wavy lines here and there. Might remake it in mdf or something. May also add some 4"(?) speakers to either side of the console. i also have a pair of sparkomatic 6x9s from the 1980s lol still has the kmart sticker on em.
But also, probably not. this thing is temporary until i get an actual console in my grubby hands.
