had an interesting thing happen the other day. After a long run on the freeway @ 45 psi, when I pulled off at the exit, it fluttered between 30 (normal idle) & 60 - on surface streets it acted normally. Bad sender or? thanks

Occasionally I get a check engine lite- vehicle is an 83 cutlass 307 y code. I have cruise control, but at the moment the speedo isn't working due to the upper cable from the transducer being inop. Is this the cause of the check engine code or??? thanks!!!

I managed to get an in box nos efe valve - but no gaskets. Please if you know the part # s for the flat 2 hole side & does the "cone" side use a gasket, if so the p/n for that also. Azone, orielly , napa etc dont stock them so can't do an eye match. Trying to get everything possible before...

I got a new nos valve, 2 bolt flange ( seller was an old auto supply that had paper catalogs & said it was correct (83 307 y code) but cant find any listings for gaskets- what is the part # os source for gaskets (if any) before I dismantle it?? thanks

it's a tapping sound not a rattle- coming from rear of engine - engine is fine- instant oil pressure etc

Where is the efe valve physical;ly located? And would it cause a loud tapping sound when engine is cold? onnce up to temp 180 or so no noise- thanks

Not exhaust rattle , cat ok seems line it's coming from the rear of the motor- tapping sound not a rattle completely goes away when up to temp - thanks- keep them coming

Problem solved I think -last person to do the pump had the small bolts going in from the backside essentially doing nothing- they went thru the timing cover (threaded) and then the water pump which is not threaded so doing nothing to hold the water pump. Am I correct in that ALL bolts including...

They are NOT the main w/p bolts- they are the 4 bolts that hold the pump to the plate 2 at the top, 2 at the bottom they thread into the pump from the backside - only problem is the replacement pumps do not have threads - are you guys using bolts & nuts???
