    79 GP w/factory moon roof...Rare?

Thanks for the input, the asking price is more than I'm willing to go after with the amount of work involved. If I get over that way soon I will post some pics and description of the vehicle on the site here. Maybe someone else may be interested?

    2 G-bodies in 2 years!!

You can install an aftermarket lock up kit for your torque converter. They range from $15-$200. I would recommend one that runs through the brake switch, engine vacuum switch and lastly through the hydraulic switch in the transmission. You don't have to have the lock up to make the transmission function...

    79 GP w/factory moon roof...Rare?

I stopped and looked at a 1979 Grand Prix with a factory power moon roof.... is this rare or is this a somewhat common feature on the GP's. The car seems quite overpriced other than that. Any input is appreciated.

    what'll it run...

He did mention that it has stock pistons, cam and crank. 16's sounds about right anything better than that is doing well with a stock cam.

First Car Project 81 El Camino no Motor or Trans

Nice car, A 350 w/vortec heads and a mild camshaft makes a nice powerplant. Salvage yards, craigslist and automotive swap meets are on the cheaper side of things. But all used parts sales are "buyer beware". Good luck.

    2 G-bodies in 2 years!!

Welcome, You will have to swap out the computer controlled distributor for an older vacuum advance unit also. It would be wise to install an adjustable vacuum advance canister on it and limit the vacuum advance to 10 -12 degrees.(The stock vacuum advance is set up to run with an EGR system and...

    Cheap horsepower on V8 G-Body?

$200-$400 really limits what you can do. You will have to decide whether you are going to keep your car emmision compliant or not, and any real performance gains will come at the expense of eliminating your computer controlled carb and distributor. Most of the guys on this site are not real...

    need a set of heads

If memory serves me correct, the 3A heads have 1/2" bolt holes and the 4 and 6 heads have 7/16" bolt holes. Also the chamber sizes are much different. I'm unsure of the bolt holes on the 7A heads but I believe they are 7/16" also.
