    th200c to th400 swap

You could be right, on the other hand, the 88 ta 305 is a chevy engine, so will the flex plate from a th200c work on a TH400?

    th200c to th400 swap

Thanks for all the help, now to the next question. I have a 1988 T/A roller 305 (1 pc rear seal) in the car. What flexplate do I need to mate the TH400?

    th200c to th400 swap

My bad, the cross member needs to be moved back. 200c mounts at 22 1/4. Now I have conflicting information on the drive shaft. if you have the 8.5 rear you need to shorten it, if you have the 7.5 (and I do) you don't?

    th200c to th400 swap

Don't think so, just a different mount. They both mount at 27" so the cross member will be fine.

    th200c to th400 swap

OK I have read everything on this forum re: this swap. This is going into my 1985 Caballero. SBC 305, 7.5 posi rear (factory) I already have an "ice man" cross member in the car. The reason for the 400 is that the 200c is tosted, and I got the 400 cheap. As I understand it all I need to do is...

    Engine suggestions.

85 Cutlass Brougham is right, you need to know what 350 you have (or will have), and choose parts that will work with it.

    Intrepid fan wiring help needed...

Blace wires would be ground, pink/brown would be b+. You need a diagram for the 98 to get it right. You said you put power to the Pink/Brown, what did you use for ground? Try this, power the Pink/Brown wires, ground ONE black, if you get low speed, ground the second black and see if you get Hi...

    Intrepid fan wiring help needed...

Temp switches screw into the heads or intake. I'll post pics when I have them. I used a 30amp inline fuse, but a breaker works too. Don't have a wiring schematic online, sorry.

First Car Project 81 El Camino no Motor or Trans

What a great start! You could take it in any direction you can afford (lol). Before you do anything, get a plan of what you would want to do. Read, Research, go to car shows, talk to those of us who have done this type of project. Above all, know what you are buying, and be sure it fits your...

    Intrepid fan wiring help needed...

Heres what you need: 2 relays, one for low speed, one for hi (I like the ISO 5 pin) 2 screw in temp switches, single pin, normal open, 1 @ 180/190 and 1 @ 210 Your fans will have 3 wires, 2 power, one ground, you need to determine low/hi yourself. The rest is simple. I'll use the pin #s...

    Engine/transmission swap

The 350 has 3 different tail housings, 6,9 or 12, You either need the 6" or cut the drive shaft to fit the one you have. Either way, your cross member mount will be in the wrong place, so you need to move it to bolt to the 350.

    Engine/transmission swap

It depends on the tail housing, if you have the 6" housing, you'll be OK. You will need to change the crossmember, as the trans mount is @ 27 15/16 on the 200 vs. 22 1/4 on the 350 (measured from the bell housing)

    ????smog pump removal????

It all depends. Heres what I did on my 85. Ordered a duel exhaust kit from Summit, $250 I think, included headers/mufflers/and pipes that exit just in front of the rear wheels. Pulled the entire exhaust from the heads back, removed the AIR pump and all related hoses/valves/tubes/ect. Installed...

    Radio help!

I think you would have the old Delco "Block" radio. It needs two power feeds, one switched to the harness next to the speaker output, and one unswitched to a small harness on the other side. Check both.

    Rain in Carb

Really? Has nothing to due with the choke. Here's the deal. Sucked most of the water out, pulled the plugs, flooded with WD-40, turned it over several times. I'll wire and fire in the morning. Let ya know how it turns out.
