Figured I would share the progress on my shop build here. I've been busy planning this out and doing the finish work. I'm hoping to wrap it up soon so I can get back to work on what matters - the car :)
Decided to share this here as it might be useful to some. Around this time last year I decided to narrow a Ford 9" for my 67 Firebird. Although not a g-body, the same principles apply. Also, if anyone is interested in fitting the LS-1 brakes on their Ford rear....read on.
Before I get into it...
I'm considering putting my Mercedes daily driver on e-bay since I live in truck country and it would probably be better appreciated in another location. Anyone ever sell a car on e-bay? Any tips? Best way to get payment without getting scammed?
Thanks
So I replaced my distributor because the one in there was making a squeaking noise when it's cold out. I got it in and the car starts and runs fine. I set up my timing light and I can't find the freaking mark, so I advance the dial on my light and finally see the mark, but it's at like 60...
So my 83 Grand Prix (Chevy 305 motor) has been making a squeaking noise for a little while (sounds like a mouse is stuck in the engine). It seems to happen when it's colder out, but that could be coincidence. I isolated it to the distributor; when it was making the noise it would go away...
I bought this Grand Prix a few months ago; originally I was going to paint it satin black, but the more I looked into it, the more of a pain that route seemd to be. This is actually a secondary project for me, my main project is a 67 firebird. Here are my plans:
- Keep it cheap
- Make it look...
I know this has been brought up before, but after searching and reading threads on the subject I still have a few questions. I'm pretty sure I need a new steering box for my 83 Grand Prix and am considering swapping in a 1986 Monte Carlo SS box. Here are my questions:
1: Will my original pitman...
Does anyone have any pictures of a 225/60/15 and/or a 235/60/15 tire mounted on a 15X8.5 rim? I'm getting tires soon and will be going with one of these sizes for the front on my GrandPrix. I want to go with the 225, but I'm concerned that it might look weird on an 8.5 rim.
Thanks
I test fit the rollers I'm using on my 67 Firebird on the 83 Grand Prix I just picked up and they seem to fit. The problem I have is deciding what size tire to use. The rims are 15X8.5 all the way around. The tires on the rims are:
front: 225/50/15
rear: 295/50/15
I think the rear may be a...
Hi, my name is Joe and I'm a caraholic :D
I just picked up an 83 Grand Prix to setup as a daily driver. I used to own an 87 Cutlass (was the second car I ever owned), so I know a little about g-bodies. I also have been working on another project; a 67 Pontiac Firebird. That one is more of a...
