Maybe it's just an urban legend, but I remember plenty of old dudes warning me about blasting body panels. Heat distortion and all.
Definitely not an urban legend. I don't think it is so much the heat, it is the peening effect the abrasive has. It's like a bunch of little hammers hitting and stretching the metal.Maybe it's just an urban legend, but I remember plenty of old dudes warning me about blasting body panels. Heat distortion and all.
Wouldn't painting a buick 350 to look like a nailhead in this car be kinda like those fancy valve covers they make so an ls appears to be an sbc? 😆Going in a slightly different direction, I picked up a good divorced choke 800 CFM Quadrajet core to rebuild. It's a 73 off a Buick 350. Might clean it up and put it back together then send it out to get replated and done up right. I'm not so worried about the primary and secondary circuits but I want to make sure the idle circuit is set up right.

Also I saw this scrolling on marketplace. It's a Buick 350 painted Buick green like a nailhead. I kinda like it. The Edelbrock air cleaner looks out of place but with a factory air cleaner, it could be a cool look.

I dunno. Looks simple-Quick question with the engine harness, what type of terminal does the firewall end have on it? I know '68 up have the type 56 terminals but not sure about '67 & older.
Hmmm... no.Wouldn't painting a buick 350 to look like a nailhead in this car be kinda like those fancy valve covers they make so an ls appears to be an sbc? 😆
Per the [email protected] IN: 223, EXH: 230What is the .050" duration on that cam? Manual choke for that carb? One of the few earlier 800 cfm carbs.
Some of those 800 cfm carbs are asking crazy prices these days. Especially the hipo stuff. I saw some w72 ones listing $800, $1000, $1200 and not even restored yet. Things are starting to go nuts.I took a closer look at this carb today and I'm not too happy with it. It looks like it probably ran not too long ago, however it also looks like it was dropped down a flight of steps not too long ago. Seller didn't really disclose that information and I share some of the blame for not asking. Also, it's a 750, not an 800. Kinda pissed about it but it can sit on the shelf for parts. It'd probably run fine but it isn't worth sending out and making nice.
