well between the weather we had and the baby I dident get a lot done the last week but tonight I got the band, drum and center support in and cleaned the input shaft, removed the check ball and retainer [I have a non lockup converter] installed new seals on the shaft and sized them, rebuilt the overrun clutch and cleaned the overdrive planet and thrust bearings, now I just need to turn down my overdrive apply piston and I can finish and move on to the valve body

a friend of mine turned down the overdrive apply piston .080 so I can add a 3rd friction for better holding power. He wrapped it copper to protect the seal surface on the outside, I need to install it and check the clearance to see if it is sufficient

I pinned the small weight on the governor to prevent the spring from flying out also it should lower the wide open up shift with the small amount of weight added but I wont know how much till I drive it

I got a deep pan and a 700-r4 filter so it will suck off the bottom not the top also it will hold a lot more fluid and that should help it stay cooler

Awesome trans build. Been checking your thread for your updates.I tried rebuilding my Grand Nationals 2004R but after reinstalling, it had a flare on the 2-3 shift. I tore it apart again, checked everything, installed a shift kit, and it still did it. I took the trans to a local builder and he tore it apart and redid it. It worked fine after that. He said he could not find anything wrong. So that has always spooked me on doing anymore. By the way, I got a 700R4 I need to send you for a rebuild
