do the roof the same colour as the interior and leave the stripes off IMO as it looks good with the pinstriping you have.

I'm not a fan of vinyl tops in general. My '80 Calais came without from the factory, which is one of the reasons that I bought it. But... if I had to pick, I'd go with a dark blue.

By the way, I love your car. I can't wait to get some spare cash to finish mine. If only the kids didn't have to eat!

I vote no stripes and a dark blue top. Nice job btw, looks good.

if you do stripes, do the hood and make sure you catch your scoop with the stripe, but do the rear decklid like the 79 H/O's where it's just the rear of the decklid not on the top and avoid the roof, i hate when people stripe the roof!!!!!

If I do the stripes they would be the simple ss stripes (on the hood and trunk lid only). I'm not a fan of the roof stripes either.

I wouldn't change a thing. Love the color! And with the white pinstripes, I think more striping would be too much. I think the white top looks great. Resist the urge to do too much...leave it.

nice car and buy!! Ive never noticed it around here I saw you were from crimora, I live in fishersville, But anyway I love your car!

thts a damn fine ride ya got there. and a darker blue top would ben very nice IMO. and dont stripe it, thatll be a lil too much, but its your whip now so do what ya want. good job! the only car i ever got cheaper than yours was my 2nd saturn for $100 and it only has 57k on it.

The color looks very cool. It looks almost like an early 70's Olds color. I dont know why, but I've seldom seen racing stripes add anything to a car, other than maybe a camaro. Could be just me though. I do like the way the later 442 had the body line stripes following the wheel wells, doors and bumpers too. Also, I really dig the early 442 stripe that goes from side to side up and over the hood and tailing back a bit. Very Olds, very unique. It doesnt matter what you do because so far I cant question your taste, your car looks great!

Thanks guys for all the comments. I think I am going to leave it as is except for the vinly top which I am going to replace. My next major project for the car is the drivetrain. Which I think I am going to build the 71 Lt1 engine I have in my garage for it. Was going to go with a crate motor for the warranty they have but I have done all the other work on the car might as well do all the drivetrain building too. Not exactly sure on the parts list on the motor yet. Still deciding on which direction I want to go with it. Whether to go mild or wild. When I finally decide i'll post up on the build with pics and specs. I still need to take pics of the new interior and post them. Might do the tommorrow.
