Thanks guys!!

Started work on the firewall and welded up a few holes. Got bored with that and decided to go get a quart of epoxy primer and prime a few parts. or at least attempt too... Shows me I need to do a little more work!!!! Going to spray the entire car in epoxy to seal it all, then a few more coats of 2k and get to blocking AGAIN. Found a few spots in the front fenders that need a little help. So if they need help I'm sure I will find a few more in the rest of the car. I'll get this thing eventually!!! Bumpers need a little more work as well.

But I will say, I was very pleased with the work I did on the rear quarter panel. I was very worried about that at first, because of the amount of body work I had to do back there. But it looks awesome! just two very small spots Ill fix and it will be golden.

And did a little more today. Decided since I noticed a few dings still in the fenders, I would go ahead and shoot a couple coats of slick sand on it and block everything out hopefully one last time. I learned a lot here with this one. Learned to always watch where the air hose is, and your sweatshirt while shooting the roof. I drug it across more then once. Ill have to really watch that with the base/clear!! Anyways, a few pictures.

Rodney,
It's coming along nicely. SlickSand is a cool product. Unfortunately, I didn't use it on the entire body, just the doors and tailgate. :? I guess my patience was wearing thin. Going the extra mile will pay off. Good work, man.

Thanks Jack!! I started researching the slick sand last night and figured since I had missed a few dings on the fenders, there were probably a few others on the body itself. So laid it on there!

I also decided to make it an even more productive day today!! Also got the firewall done. Holes filled and covered in epoxy primer. This painting stuff is kind of fun! Body work....not to much. But spraying paint is kind of addicting.

Alright, today we got some base/clear shot!! Went and picked up some Nason base in platinum silver metallic and some 498-00 clear this morning. Came home and went to town. Not bad, very surprised how it laid out!! I was expecting to have some issues being a new painter, but went on there real good! I did run the firewall, but thats because I got overzealous laying the clear on. Its pretty easy to do!! Anyways, onto the pictures.

Here it all is in base:

Well, picked up a 6 inch Harwood lift off hood today for 100.00 dropped off at my house. I only wanted a 4 inch, and in the bolt on variety but for that price....I couldnt turn it down! Test fit it to the car. All I have to say is she better be BAD to back up this hood!!

Looking good, like the silver/grey.

Lookin' good, Rodney!
I'm diggin' the color.
However, I'm not a huge fan of the oversize cowl hoods...but for the price, you can't go wrong.
