The end game of checking the timing is to confirm that the timing wheel that's pressed on the crank is reading accurately. Finding and marking TDC on the crank pulley is only a step of checking the timing. I've done it on my 4.8, but said the heck with it on the 5.3 because it was a $250 motor. If it's living at 20psi and 18 degrees on C16, then I assumed it was close enough for my game of horseshoes lol. But your built motor I would treat differently before sending a rod out of the block.

Engine was verified 0* timing when assembled. I will try and add a TDC mark.

You need to add both a TDC mark and a pointer. The pointer is the tricky part so that it doesn't interfere with the turbo piping and you can see it with a timing light when the engine is running.

I knew I had hurt the PS pump when I ran it without fluid, so I bit the bullet and got a new one:

However with the new HX steering box, the 7” stock truck PS pulley doesn’t fit:

So, I purchased this Dirty Dingo 5” billet pulley and it all fits!

I will likely need a pressure reducer to keep everything happy due to the higher speed, also thinking about adding a PS cooler because the header goes right by all the steering stuff and don’t want to cook the fluid overtime.
