SPRINGTIME SOON.

On the list:

1) Around april 1st: get car out of storage
2) Change rag joint and install the solid Jeep shaft I bought last fall;
3) install transmission cooler
4) Install 15" Pontiac Rally wheels with whitewall 235/75 R15
5) Change steering wheel ( I got a rally unit during the winter )
6) Change the transmission for a 200-4R ( transmission bought last summer). This will require moving the crossmember by a few inches, done in the past.
7) Change the rearend for a posi 3.73 with disk brakes ( diff bought last summer )

In parallel : working on the turbo 231 engine in my shed.
 
Oil passage - done at 1/2".

Porting before and after.




Using Autocad, I'm estimating the area went from 795 square mm to 1062 square mm. This is 33% more flow for the exhaust.

Whitewall tires are getting difficult to find. Found these 225/75R15 for 20$ total. I liked that price. These are M+S tires but will be ok in the short run - threads are not aggressive at all.



I like the look of fat 15's on a gBody - in a late 70s Cadillac Seville way.

Spacers may be required for the front wheel to clear the frame when I fully turn the wheels in one direction or the other.

I got the 1979 Seville look 🙂

225/75R15 all around. Some rubbing in the front, but I will fix that - nothing major.

For 2014, it will still be a relatively tame car - no engine upgrades this year, but will get to a new TH200-4R and a new 3.73 / rear disks setup.

2015 Will be 3.8 Turbo year - prepped during next winter.
