Looks great witch shop did it the one on brick boulevard?

Yes, the Meineke on Brick Blvd. Reeves took care of it and Paul did all the work. Nice job they did, really nice. I'm bringing my Suburban to them on Monday.

Some more pictures of the exhaust. Of course I forgot to take a clip of it running, they are going to send me one later.

Well my engine build is finally coming to a close! The car runs nice, and there are just a few things/wiring to tidy up and then I get it back in my garage. I'm going up there tomorrow just to clean up the car and prep it to come home. It's been a fun ride, and I really enjoyed the process. When we watch the car shows on TV, we get a really fast look into the process. While I knew that was not what to expect, I never realized all the fine little details that went into it. The shop always took the time to show and explain to me what they where doing, and most importantly, why. Little things, like where to run certain wires, how to route the plug wires, why this was installed a certain way. The amount of thought that went into each phase to make sure the next phase went smooth has to be appreciated. In doing so, it went smooth, and there were no costly oversights. While its fun to watch on TV how they complete a car in a week, its just not reality. What I got was a painstakingly built engine, built the way I hoped it would be, and built right for my car and how I use it. It was a fun process to be a part of.

So as the end draws near and I get my car back this coming week, I wanted to just give a rundown of the people responsible for this work of art that is my Oldsmobile. While initially my wife and I did a lot to it over several years, that pales in comparison to what these fine people did:

On Point Automotive: 218 Broadway, Pt. Pleasant Beach NJ - 848-232-1850 - https://www.facebook.com/onpointautonj/
** They have gone above and beyond crafting the engine I wanted for the Olds. The level of thought and detail that went into it is apparent and impresses me more every time I look at the car. The daily pictures I got too were great!

Meineke: 497 Brick Blvd, Brick NJ - 732-965-3313
** They made the custom exhaust. A fine job, nice and clean install. From the bends to the welds, its just a nice job. And it sure sounds good too!

Maaco: 1299 Ocean Ave, Lakewood NJ - 732-523-1823
** They re-did my feeble attempts at body work and painted the car. Yes, I brought it to Maaco. Not all Maaco's are the same. The one in Toms River NJ is not so great. The Lakewood Maaco where I went does a lot of classic cars. He does a really nice job. In fact, he's painted several cars for me. And will paint several more.

G-Body Parts (A Sponsor of this Forum)
** Towards the end we saw we needed some parts, many hard to get. GBody parts had them all and shipped them out within an hour of me ordering. They earned my business big time!

JEGS (You know them from the internet and the yellow hats!)
** Say what you will but they came through. Got a lot of parts from them and they shipped fast too. One order they messed up, but they made it right and we got the part on time. I was impressed with their customer service.

That's all for now. I did take a video of it running but at 22mbs it was too large to upload. I'll see what I can do.

I assume they installed the TV geometry corrector for your 2004R trans? Enjoy, let us know how it performs compared to stock.

Yes - we got it with the carb from Jegs. I have not driven it yet - but I will in a few days!

Tomorrow's the day! The car is done and I'll be picking it up in the morning. Its been on the road, driven, and tuned and all is well. This build has been a great experience. I've had a lot of fun researching stuff, learning about how and why it was done the way it was, and watching everything progress. Everyone involved did an outstanding job - it came out even better than I could have imagined. The only bad news I am getting it back so it can sit - we are a few days away from closing on the new house. So the trunk will be filled with clothes and linens to move to the new house. But once we unpack..... It's off to the races.

Beautiful job all around, man. Congrats and hopeful wishes that it's all you deserve!

Regarding your exhaust, it looks like the professional job the car should have. My current plan for my ElCo is a Pypes stainless steel system that'll cost me about $500 with an x-pipe but no mufflers and the fitting and installation is up to me (I suspect I'll have to pay a pretty penny to get the install done to my satisfaction). Was Meineke's bill a number that should make me reconsider my current plan?

Looking forward to hearing great things from your reintroduction to your baby!

Best - Gary

Meineke's bill was about that for the entire thing (I bought the mufflers and tips, which cost $200 for all 4 of those items). They made the rest. They did a super job on it. I'd highly recommend looking in to having them do it.
