Well the new motor and transmission are finally in the car, and everything is in the process of getting hooked up. We'll need to do some paint touch up underneath, but we are close. Wiring harness needs some attention. Other than that we are good! The fender well splash shields are from G-Body Parts and were a perfect fit, super fast shipping too. The original ones disintegrated.

It's in the hole!

Awesome, I see that is a Proform distributor, hoping it runs awesome.

Stopped by to check on the 442 earlier - wiring is almost done and they should be firing it up today. Monday it goes for exhaust, and then it should be back at the shop by lunch time to get buttoned up. This shop (On Point Automotive) is doing a spectacular job - they are making sure everything is gone over twice and done right. I am very impressed. Here are some pictures of where we are at today:

I also has some people ask about the Thornton Musclecars high-flow manifolds and how they fit. First, we could not install them metal to metal as you could see gaps in there, so the shop put in gaskets. Otherwise, everything is perfect. Below are pictures of where the manifolds end and your (and my) new exhaust will begin. Once I get the car back and drive it I'll know how much of a difference they make.

Those manifolds look good, hopefully that Edelbrock carb runs decently after tuning.

Today the 442 gets its exhaust done! No more cats, dual from the manifolds back, Magnaflow mufflers and tips. Looking forward to getting it done. Engine was run for the first time over the weekend. Once they get the car back today they'll get it tuned and running right and I should have it back (hopefully) later this week. Just in time to move!

The exhaust is on and the car sounds awesome! We went with a rear exit simply to be different. I've seen them on GBodies before and it reminds me of the 60's and 70's 442's with the rear exhaust. All in all it came out sweet! Should have the car back in a few days! Can't wait!

Looks like a nice system. Looks like those manifolds fit the chassis very well. Congrats. You've got a nice car there. We need an idle clip!

Yes - I need to get back up there and take one. It sounds great. The Thornton manifolds really fit nicely.
