So current things im pondering about at the moment, i have the turbo drain fairly figured out since i will be using the fuel pump from a 6.2 diesel that goes in the same spot that a normal small block Chevy would it takes way the spot that the stock turbo oil drain is routed to. The big issue i have is the driver manifold, it goes so wide that it hits the frame. Any suggestions? I thought about cutting the downward section, rotating it, then having it welded back together however im not sure what that would do for the strength of the manifold itself. I would imagine if i cut it at a slight angle then when i rotated the piece i cut it would change the direction it was pointed enough to clear the frame. Currently its also aiming directly at the brake proportioning valve.

Welding cast is a special process. You can not just cut and weld.

Can you make a header for that side?
That might be a possibility, but if i do that ill probably make one for each side. I need to see if the spacing for the ports is similar to any other engine.

What about flipping it over 180 to point forward and up?
I dont think i would have the room in the front, also then the crossover pipe to the passenger manifold would have nowhere to go.

Id need to take it to someone that knew what they were doing then because thats out of my wheelhouse there

A buddy of mine put a 501 caddy in a 78 Malibu years ago and to make headers work he took the manifold gaskets to a shop that cut them out of 1/4" steal so he could use them as header flanges then he bought BBC headers for a G g-body and cut the flanges off made them work you get the idea

That's a great idea, if the port spacing is close between say a small block chevy so that i could get off the shelf headers that might be the route i go. I have a buddy with a mill that could machine up some flanges for me no problem.

My buddy used BBC because they were close to the 501 he figured it out by going on eBay and searching header gaskets and looking at pictures lol whatever works that's hot rodding

Okay guys long time no post but got laid off with all this virus stuff going on and shifted work to around the house and getting things ready for summer while i was off. Fast forward almost 4 weeks, back to work and have some time to post the latest. With the block side of the solid mounts from speedway installed the exhaust fitment is much better, the manifolds actually arent touching the frame. Its very close but i think with some grinding and clearance i can make it fit. Have the transmission in now for the test fit as well. Figured i can plug away at the little things for now.
