looking good man. its nice to see another bmxing teenage g body owning guy on here haha

Not a teen anymore 😳 but, one of the minor deciding factors on why a g-body when I was one, was my bike would fit in the trunk perfectly (two fit with removal of the handlebars and one pedal), I still carry it around with me almost everywhere my malibu goes, lol, in case I feel like riding. Not to mention, my gas gauge used to be inop, so it saved me from walking a few times  . Nice work so far! 8)

hey does anyone have any clue or trick on how to get the two middle bell housing bolts out :?: theres like no room bettween the trans and tunnel, i've been workin at it for over an hour now :wtf:

thanks in advance

put a jack (trans jack/floor jack how ever your doing it, lift or not) under the trans take the trans mount and crossmember off off lower the jack slowly make sure no to smash your distributer to the firewall, the engine and everything should tilt back just enough to reach up in there with a wrench or a socket with a long extension and a swivel
PUT THE LOWEST EASYEST TO GET BOLTS BACK IN THE TRANS FIRST.

broken arm wont help any haha, are you doing it on a lift?

no not at all,and nope jack stands lol. just clarifying, where do i put the jack under the trans? i have to remove the cross member to lower the trans right? the only spot i see to put the jack is the trans pan and i know thats not right

im assuming you got the driveshaft out you can put the jack under the tail of the trans, i have put it under the pan and it survived. i always did it on a lift so cant be too different. you could, put a piece of wood between the trans and the jack and jack it up on the pan, run a strap around your jack and the trans so its secure and wont move from the jack, un bolt the 4 bolts holding the crossmember to the trans, jack it up, if you dont have room to pull the crossmember out because of the mount, pull the bolts off of the mount that go into the trans, and wiggle the mount out, then you can fanagle the crossmember out. then once you got the crossmember out (making sure you got atleast the 2 lowest bolts on the bellhousing of the trans, lower your jack down making sure you dont smash the distributer to the firewall like i said before, get them top bolts out, jack it back to its normal spot, take the 2 lower bolts that you put in back out, and start wiggling the trans back to break it loose when you do that, lower the jack again so the trans comes compleatly down and your good to roll it out (depending on how much clearance you have under your car thats a whole nother story then) also make sure you have everything dissconected from the trans and the converter unbolted too, suppose i should have asked this or made sure, but your taking the trans out right? haha  if not now you know how haha i just assumed

lol nope i'm not taking the trans out, just trying to get it unbolted from the engine so i can pull the old 307 in there while i'm on spring break so i can put the new 350 in when i go back to school
