it will make things easier if you take it completely out, but everyone has there own ways. i find the easiest way to getting them bolts out is by doing that, lowering the trans and engine down and reaching up and getting them out.
taking it out makes it that much easier when you put the engine back in i think.

are u keeping the serpentine set up?? did the oil pan go in without any issues ?

Didn't drop the new engine in yet, just pulled the old one today, and no the oil pan is going to work out fine I think. I'm not keeping the serpentine set up either, I'm switching it back to v belts.

Nice score on the Cutlass! Its great to see an other young guy like myself ( just turned 21) building a ride with some style instead of some riced up honda with a 4" exhaust tip lol. Keep up the good work!

why not keep the serpentine u love it it such a head ache to deal with v belts and v belts tend to squeal more since they are less wide

cool build... I was gonna ask why not just use a transmission jack that cradles the pan..... then I realized not everybody has a transmission jack.. 😀

Heyy, with the intake I'm running and my carb, I need about 2-4" of clearance which my stock hood is not allowing me, I'm low on fund at this point, so has anyone tried cowling out their stock hood? Or does anyone have any ideas(temporary/permanant)? thanks in advance guys

kinda wishin I would have stayed with a serpintine system, its a pain when you have to find the perfect pulley, went through 3 different ones today that were either bent, warped, or just simply not right lol ugh

sweet ride bro, looks like your doing good to it already, keep up the work.
