Back to work.

Here's a couple pics of the factory bend stainless lines after I booger with them to make them work on the 9 inch.

Driver side ended up a breeze. I just flipped the line around and it follows the front of the axle tube now, instead of the back. The passenger side, on the other hand, took some "persuading".

I will have you know, I am quite fond of little brackets! Have made a few myself . . .

That line going into your splitter is huge! Or are my eyes getting even worse? Could be the latter . . .

I assure you it's the same size as what you would see on a front frame to caliper hose. Prob the angle of the pic.

I got my Eastwood double flaring tool in the mail. I couldn't get my flaring tool to hold the stainless line tight enough to do the flare. Guess the stainless is too hard. With what I trimmed off I have plenty of practice pieces.

I've only ever been able to get a single flare on SS lines. I think you'd need a hydraulic to get a double. Don't forget to deburr! 😉

I broke it out of the box and immediately started testing it on the extra I cut off of the back two lines. The first try was perfect as was every other one I tried. I did about 6 to 10 I think before doing the two lines for the rear. Perfect!!

As long as you really tighten down the two clam shell pieces that the line goes in, the rest is just pulling the handle.

No cracks, no splits, no distortion. The tool is not cheap, but WORKS like a charm (so far)

Now it's off to the welder. I picked up some weld on brake line tabs from InLine Tube to help give the brake line set up a more factory look (instead of using zip ties)

They come curved to match the axle tube.

The weld through primer is on, time to burn some metal.

That double flare looks nice! The problem with stainless lines comes with working on lines that have already been flared. The line kit I got from inline tube had to be modified, and I ended up having to trash a couple lines! A buddy of mine has the eastwood tool, and we almost broke it trying to double flare.
I found out from inline tube that once they bend/flare the stainless becomes annealed and renders it almost impossible to work with unless a hydraulic flaring tool is used!
