Still can't argue with a strong performing truck 8) I'm building a TBI 383 for mine that will be driven every day

Oh agree, that's why I'm keeping mine!! It seems every time I think about getting rid of it, I need to haul / do something truck-like or I start planning the future build for it. Or getting my hands on a last-gen Ford Lightning, doing V8 Ranger swap, or a 426 Hemi Dakota. Remember seeing the kit for that years ago at SEMA when the crate motor came back out & have wanted to do one ever since

[quote="FE3X CLONEI may just have to drop the car off at my friends house with a wad of cash and say finish it! I'm sure he'd just love that.[/quote]

Looks like you got a few volunteers to get it finished 😀

Actually Black Sheep is the "friend" I was speaking of. My car spent the first 3-4 years at his place while doing most of the frame off, notching, disassembly, etc. Then I brought it back to my place and decided to pull the body back off the frame again and put it on a rotisserie. lol
Soon it will go back to his place to sit until I have the money to pay him to start the finishing work.

What an absolute bear of a day though. It all started with trying to get the car loaded on the trailer. My dad was helping to guide me and on the first try, when the rear wheels hit the ramp, the True-trac kicked and launched the ramp on the drivers side. Luckily I was so far up on the ramp that it didn't really scrape or hit anything.
I was lucky I didn't have the bumper or ground effects on because then it would have been a different story.

Tried twice more to get it straight on the trailer and each time, the car kept shifting to the right. Ended up scraping my passenger side front rim on the trailer fender a little. Nothing that won't polish out.

Only thing we can figure is the fact that the front suspension isn't even close to being aligned properly and it didn't matter how straight on I hit the ramps, it would shift over every time.

And of course my darn water leak just keeps getting worse and worse. I thought I had found that it was probably coming from the water pump gasket but I just can't see any trace of water in the area. It's obviously on the drivers side because as soon as I start the car up and the water pump is turning, it starts leaking. But you can't see where its coming from. It's just like the darn crap magically appears on the ground and the chassis. 🙁

On top of that the EFI obviously needs a lot more tuning. It is so extremely rich it'll burn your eyes. I was lucky to get it on the trailer and then off the trailer and in my friends barn. I can tell the plugs are about fouled out with the way its acting.

Oh, and as I was getting ready to pull the car off the trailer I push in on the brake pedal and apparently popped something on the drivers side front caliper. Felt the pedal sink slowly to the floor. 🙁

To be honest, after all that I'm kind of glad it's no where near me. I was ready to haul it to the shredder at that point. LOL

Well, one day when I have the car up and running and I upgrade to 18's or 19's, I'll keep you in mind. 😉

Those rims are really nice looking and I don't think I would have sent my car off to the shop wearing them... What kind are they?

They should be fine. We'll be covering them up well. Besides, with the front brakes that I have, I don't really have any other options that I can use.

The wheels are American Racing Torque Thrust II Classics. Basically a Torque Thrust II wheel that they don't polish the centers on. However I didn't like the gray color they came with. Looked really blue, so I bought some Duplicolor graphite wheel paint and resprayed them. But I think when I'm done, I'm going to have the centers painted black like the body.

I think the wheels look t*ts. If I had another Cutty I would do the same only in an 18 in part because of what tires are available. Haven't seen any 19s or larger that don't spin like you are on black ice at the first hint of some torque. Plugs may say gas fowled but burning eyes is actually too lean.
