If adjusting the cable one or two clicks forward or backwards doesn't fix the shift points, most likely the trans is going to need a rebuild. As for a performance rebuild i would look at http://www.cpttransmission.com/. They seem to know whats needed to make the 200r4 survive high power applications. Hopefully this helps with some ideas on your rebuild.

Drove over an hour to find that the '85 Cutlass Supreme w/overdrive was (I believe) a TH200 w/lockup converter. Owner thought the locking up & unlocking was shifting in & out of OD. Odd configuration though. The car has the sport guages and a rear swaybar. Finding the non-OD was a surprise. Thought all '85 Cutlass cars w/V8's were 307/TH200R4 equipped. Not buying it for that & other reasons.

Oh ok my car originally had that same trans mated to the 305. It also had rally gauges, H.D. suspensions and other nice options. The rear originally was a 2.48 ratio i think...
