Looking to put hardened seats into the 403 heads.

Do the seats go through any of the cooling passages?

Thanks

I "assume" your going with the 4A heads. They came with hardened seats. The 403 +.040 fresh AZRacing (Auto Zone :)•》long block, I just bought. It has the positive valve seals, new valves and new valve seats. The guy bought this engine in 2006 and never used it. So my opinion is no but I'm no machinist.

Induction hardened seats

once you machine them or cut them for larger valves the hardening is gone

If you have those heads off have them pressure checked

if they used a non shallow seat they cut into the water jacket

You're answering your own question!

Yes I know but I would like to hear from someone that actually did it.

Once you cut them thats it

I hope your head guy knows what he's doing! I got one if you want to ship them down here. Ever hear of Guy Mancini? The head guy's name is Todd. Guy works out of his house now; sold the shop many years agp, and Todd works there on the weekends.
When I took my E-bocks in there, Guy still has a pic of his 52 Olds that he poked and stroked in the early days on the wall.
