why do you think it's the TC?...have you checked the fluid pressure yet?
The transmission shifts fine driving around, but from a stop it takes more rpm than it used to to leave. it doesn't come out of gear and idle up (like it being put in park) like my other Th350 did when it was slipping, it just idles normally and slowly eases into the gear with throttle. And it won't hold itself on a hill anymore. even my slipping Th350, when it didn't pop out of gear, would hold itself.
 
I have not checked the pressure as I do not have a 300psi gauge to check it.
 
check with oreilly's auto parts, the gauge may be part of there free tool rental.

And if I were to check the pressure, what would I do? Take it apart? Try and fix it?
 
At that point, it's not worth it to me. It sounds contradictory to what I said earlier, but if I have to dive into the transmission to get it running, I'd rather just buy another one. I mean sure, if this was a spare transmission I would, but in the guise of getting my car mobile (again), I'd rather dump it.
 
Never change the fluid, drop the pan change the filter put old fluid back in and top off.

If your changing the fluid it's because there is a problem and you "think" new fluid will fix it.

There is the new member that owns a transmission shop PM him maybe he will set you up with something.
I got chastised on here for advising against changing the fluid in a high mileage 700R4. I agree with you, by the way. I learned the hard way.
 
you had leaves in it? Tree leaves?
It was windy. There were 2 or 3 dead leaves in there, I picked them out. The fluid sat open face in a garage over night, so the panty hose was used to strain any unwanted foreign matter before I poured it back into the transmission. Worked well. I did not have
 
I would source another transmission be it a 350 or 400 to build while you get the last bit of life out of this one. They are cheap to buy and cheap to build. I have no idea where you got $700 like one of your older comments said. My 400 was around $300 for the rebuild kit plus converter and deep pan. Both are a dime a dozen. You can put as many $150 transmissions in there as you want but all that's gonna do is guarantee that you will be swapping it out sooner than later.
