Sending unit, o-ring, lock ring, and fuel line all came guess I'm dropping the tank tomorrow. Good day to do it everyone will be off the road in Lakewood and I'll be able to get some 93 octane on RT9
Tank came early guys! It's in the back of the shop truck to bring it to work tomorrow. First thing I need to do is open it up and see if it needs paint or what's on it. I have a feeling I'll be etch priming and painting a tank tomorrow night.
I was hoping it would be galvanized like the original but I didn't have high hopes. You’re correct in planning on painting it Eric. They come shipped in bare metal. Just be sure to degrease the crap outta it as they usually apply a flash rust preventative coating on them.
Seriously? What about the internal surface? I would of thought they were galvanized @ minimum (in/out). How would the untreated inside fare against todays fuel mixes??You’re correct in planning on painting it Eric. They come shipped in bare metal. The Spectra EFI tank we put in my brother's Camaro is galvanized or has a coating on it. We left it natural and it shows no corrosion 7 or 8 years later. Same with the tank in Dad's Galaxie. Granted, these are both fair weather cars.Seriously? What about the internal surface? I would of thought they were galvanized @ minimum (in/out).
