This is a great thread .... good luck .... very tough when your an only parent. I totally understand with me and my 2 boys

I finally got around to making a small amount of progress over the past few days. I just need to torque everything and install cotter keys. My plan was to throw the old rotor on so I can set the car back on the ground, then jack the body up off the frame. Problem being, I forgot about the bearing change between the years and the outer wheel bearing is too small to clear the spindle. That brake upgrade may be coming sooner than I had planned.

For reference; those are Ground Force 2" drop spindles pn #6002, Moog 5664 springs, F-body 34mm sway bar w/g-body brackets & 34mm Energy Susp bushings, Energy Susp A-arm bushings, Moog Balljoints K5208 upper, K6145T lower, TRW HD links and Gabriel VST shocks. The shocks weren't my first choice but since they came with the smokin' deal I got on the drop spindles; I'll just run 'em until the blowout. My spring choice may be overkill, but with the added weight of the 455 I think the spring rate should be right where I want it.

Stripped bumper shocks and primed. I discovered that my 13 y/o daughter likes to paint so she's getting in on the car action tomorrow! Got to get her into cars somehow right?

We need thumbs up smilies.

That looks damn nice. Keep up the good work.

if you can find 4 donuts we use for a spare that keeps the car low and helps if you want to roll the frame out from under the raised body

I don't think that will be a problem. She made a little house out of some popsicle sticks and it looked more like a duck blind after it was painted

I had beer in a cooler out in the garage so I was motivated to get some more minor tasks accomplished. Even though this is the cheapest paint they sell at Advance Auto, the results are outstanding after the proper prep and a few coats.

I recently painted some valve covers with this old Pontiac blue and didn't have use for the rest of the can until today. It's a close match to the original GM color for the bolts plus it's sort of a "Pontiac innuendo" for the trained eye to notice.

Those copper washers got hit with some clear too. Attention to detail makes all the difference!
