Blake is right...at the track if I ever said G body they looked at me with a puzzled look...they are metric cars and that's all they are known by

Nice progress on the build up dude! Looks like alot of detail and hard work not too mention beers are going into the ride  . I hear you on your 13yr old daughter I actually cleaned out my GP's trunk and took out the backseats to vacuum out 2 yrs of mice crap and chewed up remnants of paper and seats with my GF's 13yr old daughter as well. She actually helped out alot and is looking forward to taking out the front seats and trying to clean up the carpets 😀

It can be a headache switching back and forth between metric/sae tools when working on these cars...

And nothing pisses me off more than misplacing my 6 point 10 and 15mm sockets

Thanks for the compliments guys. Hopefully with this new job I'll be able to really go hard at getting this car finished. I at least want to have the frame coated before it gets cold, have the engine finished during the winter, then buy a nice trans & possibly stronger rear end when tax return comes around.

Who knows, if the money ends up being good at this new gig I may look into some aluminum KRE heads for the 455.

Nice build-up! Can't wait to see it finished. I've never seen a early G- Gp done up right! It's about time..

I'm right behind ya too... Umm, maybe a year or two behind ya actually

Thanks! The GP's altogether are the underdogs, especially the 78-80's. I can't lie, I've never liked them either until I took a closer look. It seems like Pontiac went to great lengths to make these stylish and paid great attention to detail. I'll keep posting progress as it happens. I've recently changed jobs so it may be awhile before I get the ball rolling again.

hey hey hey waiting for some updates !! 😀

I've been busy with a 13 y/o daughter and a recent change of jobs! I'd like to get going on finishing up the frame before it gets too cold as well.

Once that's done I'll be concentrating on getting the 455 finished. Trust me.....I'll post whatever I do when I find the time. Thanks for following the thread!

I pulled the rear bumper and started removing body bushings last night. Luckily no broken bolts so far! If all goes well today I'll be lifting the body off the frame.

I finally got around to start working on the car again. Right now I'm removing body bushings and dropping the rear end. The idea is to lower the frame onto some mover dollies and slide it out sideways when I'm done. I don't have a lot of room to play with and winter will be here before long; hence being able to work inside on the frame will be mandatory!

This is one of the cleaner midwest '78's I've seen in a long time. I also broke my first bolt on this car today on the driver's rear bumper shock. All the wet spots are everything that got doused in Kroil
