Preciate' that fam!! Im really liking the mock up. shoulda went semi gloss on everything but its all good. Mel blessed me with a 5.3 LS block and I'll get my chance to do it all again with that one. Should be fun!

Did a lil more mock up on the block. painted the header wrap black. i used some DEI silicone. i hope it works cuz I'd hate to waste all that wrap i did from before. Painted the valve covers up also. Looks decent. i will have the covers coated, and the fins color matched to the car- Goin with a 2013 Camaro SS dark grey.

Ill have a set of freshly rebuilt heads this friday. They are a set of 305 heads tho. This will raise the compression a bit and i may have to run a higher octane race fuel. All good. I was gonna run some Pro comp aluminum heads, but I wont drive the car enough to justify the cash for em. Also, Im working on the 5.3 LS for the Bu. So these heads will work out cool. Im curious to see how it runs. Ive done some research and decided to give it a try. they are free with all new parts so what the heck. i have a set of Crane 1.5 rollers to run on em. Just need push rods, gaskets and Im ready to fire it....

Pics of the heads...I stripped em and painted em up

That new harwood definitely looks better than the one I got back in 98'. My upper shell came off the lower assembly at 70 mph several years ago, rebuilt what was left into what you see now. They used some sort of body filler/powder mix back then . Spoke with tech & couldn't tell me what they used then, only that they now use epoxy. Think they new they had an issue & fixed it now.

The one thing I'll say twoards your new hood, let it cure in the sun & get it as hot as you can before final bodywork on it. They all shrink , sag & twist somewhat through time, especially when new. Other problem with mine was & still is wiper arm clearance.

Looks like a pretty nice wrap job on the dash, better than ones I,ve ever seen.

Thanks for the heads up bruh!!! I'll be running some hood pins for extra insurance. I love the look of the Lanyards also. The hood is out in Az right now and those 128 degree days are helping it do its thing I bet! lol! Im also gonna drill out the rivets holding the coiled spring on the hinges. i picked up some strut styled hood shocks for a G national. I'll have the part that mounts to the hood powder coated. The shocks have a 3M carbon fiber wrap on em. Should be a clean look.

Picked up some QA1 coilovers. Didnt care about the adjustable one for this build. I'll do those for the Elco. These dial down up tp 3" so I can dial it in where i want. I went with OPG's 2" rear drop springs, and I have a new set of Belltech Nitro drop shocks for the rear.

UMI Front Sway, UMI Rear Drag, Spohn Hardware, Spohn Super Travel Ball Joints. I had the UMI parts re powder coated red and added a "smoke" effect. Looks cool..

I also picked up the better washers to make adjusting the Coilovers easier

Wheels came in... 22x9 front and 22x 10.5 rear. The frame is out getting notched. Its a "generic' wheel so i couldnt order a specific offset. The et is +35 (BMW) so it sets the wheels waaay inside the wells. After the notch, i can easily run a 1" spacer to bring the wheel out to the lip of the fender. The fender lips will bu rolled also. I want the rear tucked a tad..

Mocked up the Doug's headers and Billet Specialties wire looms...

Still need to get my SC&C jounce bar setup powder coated to match the UMI parts. Soon as the frame notch is done, car is off to the cage builder for a 6 point cage and then it paint time. 2013 Chevy "Ashen Grey". Paint should lay sweet cuz of that AZ heat!! Thanks for checking back!

Well damn! Looks like flickr messed all my pics up. Trying to figure out what happened so I can get all those pics back up.. Been a loooooooong time since Ive been online. Some guys may remember me from my 87 SS and 87 Elco builds. I have a few updates on the Bu. Motor is a lil "357" for now which wont be fired up. Mel gave me a clean block that had a new .40 over piston kit in it already. I cleaned it up and put the motor back together. It will be used just to dial in the coilovers and to see how well the black themed bay looks. A carb'd 6.0 with BRP headers (blacked out) will eventually sit between those cleaned up wells...

Been a while since I last posted so Im a lil rusty. Scuse the photos if they are big or too small.. Couple pics of her when I picked her up from my club bro.(since all my old photos went missing)

8099273009_60775cc761_z.jpg

Went thru some real BS from the first paint shop that had the car. Club prez Elco Mel went and got the car for me and dropped her off at the painter that did his Elco "Brown Sugar 2.0", and he got her right. Car was painted 5 months ago and has sat in a storage unit since we got her back. For a $1500 paint job, shes lookin really good. He took her to metal(he wanted to remove the first paint job), and built her back up. Im hoping to get back out to AZ so the 80z crew can pull the frame for powder coating.. Pic below are during the "cut" phase. I'll see if I have some buffed pics. Really happy with the outcome

Painted and back "home". Hoping to get out there to Az next month so we can start pulling the frame. It will be coated the same color as the car. New bushing, QA1 coilovers, "ulitimate" 7.5 rear end-(perfect for a cruiser car) I'll repost some of the cleaned up parts again since all the old photos are not up...
