Found another pic of the bay cage. it was rattle can'd black right quick so no surface rust would start. The cage bars will be powder coated along with the frame- 2 stage metallic silver to match the car..

Pic of some of the suspension parts after powder coat. UMI rear drag bar, front sway bar, QA1 coilovers (may swap out for the Viking setup), SC&C jounce bar. I added a smoke effect to it all...

SBC "357" i put together. Mel blessed me with a freshly rebuilt 350. had a new .40 over bottom end kit and he decided to go a different route. Was perfect for me cuz it gave me the chance to install everything. The entire motor has ARP bolts now. I'll have to dig up the Comp cam/lifter specs.

Had the RPM Airgap styled intake coated. WHEW!! Came out creamy! Thanks again prez!!

I added a little film for detail after I powder coated the top..

Swapped everything to -6an fitting.. Used a "Koul tool" which made it a snap to do the lines..

The spark plug wires are braided as well. I was trying to keep the braided theme going. Worked out well

You can see the theme Im trying to go for here. Looks pretty good..

This was mocked up before I had the valve covers powder coated..I like to mock it all up on the workbench first. Sometimes ill even paint it right quick to see if I like the color combos..

FIN... I swapped in the Dougs headers from my elco project cuz they were wrapped. I dyed em black. This motor will not be fired up most likely. Im going with a carb'd 6.0 "LS" setup for it later. It will give me an idea of how the blacked out theme will look tho....

They changed the font to a bold style on this cap. I like the old style i have on my 87 SS

Checked my lil gbody stash piggy bank and I had enough saved to snatch a UMI rear shock tower brace. This will compliment the rear drag bar I have from them. Once it gets here, I'll shoot it to my powder coat guy for the smoke treatment I have on my other UMI suspension goodies.

Will look bad *ss with the frame and new gas tank coated, cleaned up rear end and underbelly clean up. The detail will really stand out once put together..

UMI drag bar before I re-coated it. But you see how it all will tie together..

I had the sbc's "357" mounts done in red and "smoked" The solid mounts are from UMI. I got the idea from UMI's "Green Machine" build. I couldnt find the mounts they used on their block tho. But these will do. The added smoke effect gives it a cool lil touch I think..

I'll keep editing the old post a few days at a time to show some of the old work done last year. Hopefully I can make it out to Az next month to get some new updates for you guys. Thanks for checking back fellas!!

Thanks fam! Thats the goal for my elco. A clean paint job, decent interior, irocs, frehsed up suspension, re chrome all the trim and new glass. Hit Mel up when you are ready for paint. Dana (brown sug and my Bu's painter) will get you right!

Been slowly updating all the old post. Im up to page 4 I think. I picked up some Spohn front swaybar endlinks. They look pretty clean..

Should complement the other suspension upgrades nicely. The red, black and silver theme continues. I cant wait to get out there next month and start on the frame. Im bringing the engine bay cage bars and new sump'd gas tank back with me to get the smoke effect added for a lil extra detail. Well.. Back to updating the old post. Thanks for checking back.😎

The UMI rear shock tower bar just came in. I should have just ordered the control arm reinforcement/frame braces but I'll get those later. Part looks sweet and will flow well with the other UMI suspension parts. Once I get the braces, I'll shoot everything to my powdercoater and he will re coat em to match the other parts and add the smoke effect..

Looks like I'll be headed to Az back to back weekends-last weekend of April and first weekend of May. Perfect! We should have no probs yanking the frame. We will probably pull all the suspension parts the first weekend and then pull the frame out the following. Cant wait!

Thanks bro!!! Yeah man!! I was looking thru the UMI "Green Machine" build and was like awww damn! Gotta have it! We were talking about getting a bar welded to add a little support back there since the Bu's frame was notched. This is perfect!! Can't wait to get out there this month to pull the frame bro! Gonna look so clean and crisp with all the UMI parts, cleaned up undercarriage, new tank/straps and other goodies..Slowly but surely the old girl is coming to life...

Thanks bro!! Wish the car was here cuz Id be on it every day lol. Its been 6 months since I last saw it. I'll be out there at the end of the month tho. Cat wait!!

Some pld pics of the tail light housing and lens cleanup. Did some "arts n crafts" on em. Come out clean! I also picked up a new lens set. On the fence if Im gonna use em or not. I was waiting for my led guy to get at me about sending him the tails, but it never worked out. I have another plan tho. Just waiting to get the cash together for the parts needed..

I tore em apart, cleaned em up and prepped em for paint. I used some adhesion promoter and some VHT shassis paint in satin finish. Looks pretty clean

And I snatched a new set of front turn signal lenses. I opened them up and painted the insides black. The Prez suggested that. Looks sweet!! Thanks bro!

Picked up some Kirky's for the project. Mel shot me a pic of em mounted in a G body using stock gbody seat tracks. Had to have em! I still need the custom work done to kae em fit using the stock tracks tho. I want to be able to go back to stock seats if i wanted to..

Got the covers for em also..

And then Mel dropped em in his el. I loved the look so much, I told Mel if he wanted to keep the set, he could have em. Mel has put a ton of leg work in for me on this project since I'm in Cali. Had to show him some love for all the work. I'll grab another set later...

More goodies for the project from Spohn. We also picked up new body bushings and hardware. Cant set a freshly coated frame (when we get er done this month) back down on old 30+ year old bushings!

Been a long road with the build. Makes it hard for me to make any progress with the car being in Az. But the 80z crew will get er done! Thanks for checking back!
