that hole doesn’t look too bad, in the sense that it’s pretty local without rust/ rot spread all over. I am from the upper Midwest though, so unless the entire trunk we’re gone I wouldn’t think it’s bad. If it were mine, I’d fab some close enough patch pieces just a bit larger than the rusted portion. Cut, weld and send it. Nobody sees that area.

On the drivers side I made the mistake of thinking I needed to use the whole patch panel and it lead to a bunch of other small problems I didnt think of, plus having to repair a much larger area after its welded in, so more chance to F it up.
