84' Cutlass pro touring build

Some roller but I'd say 90% brush by dabbing which is a pita.... 2 coats as recommended and I have maybe 16 ounces left out of the gallon
Ahh. I knew that stuff had some texture thus my curiosity on how you got it applied.

Well guys and gals. I haven't added to this in quite awhile. Been vicariously living through others threads.
I injured myself at work pretty badly on 19th of March. This morning I had a fusion done on C6 and C7 vertebrae. It has affected my right arm and hand greatly. Almost zero strength. Hopefully the repair was done soon enough and the nerve issues aren't permanent. Time will tell. So this project of mine has stalled and so has my life even more than the current situation in our world has handed us. You don't realize how much you need your dominant hand. This may have changed my life forever but I am staying positive.

man I'm sorry to hear it Tony, that's gotta be quite a procedure.glad to see you're staying positive brother,it goes a long way.especially these days.these projects can wait, quality and comfort of everything is far more important than anything.rest up and take care,we're here if you need us.FYI living vicariously through other people's threads is a big part of this hobby,we're all guilty😉

Damn sorry to hear that Tony. This came as a real shock. As the guys have said, continue to live vicariously through our builds until such time that you’ve recovered sufficiently to resume with yours.
And you WILL resume with yours, a good car guy is hard to keep down.
It may not be in the same capacity as before the accident, but I have faith in ya.

My dad suffered a bad motorcycle accident racing at the track several years ago, and badly injured his right (dominant) hand. The road rash from the accident removed half of his ring finger laterally, and he lost half of his pinky bilaterally plus the associated nerve damage and trauma. He thought he’d never be able to write or hunt or fish or do the things he loved again, but now here he is playing the guitar like it’s nothing.

Point is, we humans are a resourceful bunch, and will find a way to continue doing what we love no matter what it takes.
Wish you the best and a speedy recovery.

D.

Tony I had back surgery while I was in the process of my frame replacement. Had issues at my L5-S1 disc. Pain down my left leg was excruciating. Keep your chin up and do what the doctors say even though you may not want to. We're all pulling for you!

Thank you all for the words of encouragement. It truly means a lot to me.
I remember a short story from an old car magazine decades ago. I don't remember exactly what the car was but I believe it was a Chevelle. The gentleman who built it was a Vietnam veteran who had only one arm. And he did it entirely by himself. That story always stuck with me. I've had 3 lower back surgeries over the years plus the one for cancer last year. I will not give up either way. I might have to change the way it's done but I will do my best whatever way that is. Stories like this vet and modern day warriors who have lost limbs keep me going. I see how much worse it can be and it puts me in place. I realize feeling sorry for yourself is useless and to never take for granted your life and your dreams.
Thanks again...

Well I'm a little more than 4 weeks post surgery and doing physical therapy 3 times a week. Still at this point my right hand is only about 20% of the strength of my left. But that's progress because initially it was less than 10%
With the help of a few friends (who did all the grunt work) the frame is under the car and all torqued down. Engine and transmission also. So the rest will be done by me left handed only with very little assistance from right.
Placed a nice order through Holley including fuel tank, Hurst shifter, and mid mount front kit (alt, ac, water pump, etc.) And as an fyi to something they don't advertise.... due to the size of my order I received 10% off and free shipping. Very nice! I had no idea and wanted to pass it on to the group. I'm not pushing Holley on anyone. I know there are less expensive ways to go.
