84' Cutlass pro touring build

Very tedious indeed. Passenger side starts today. Once done with that I will coat the entire underbody with something. Leaning toward a good bed liner. Then get the frame under the car and begin the bodywork.
Lots of people using U-POL's Raptor Liner for the bottom side of the body & LizardSkin for the interior floor. I'd look for something that is an insulator to help w/noise & as a thermal barrier.

Someday when you or someone has the time.... an explanation of putty vs. Filler is needed
And appreciate all the replies!!!
I've searched and read but it's still unclear to me.

Donovan recently sorted this out for me. Putty doesn't have a hardener. A polyester filler has a hardener, some filler uses MEK as a hardener and is generally the "metal filler" or more of a specialty product. Regular polyester filler has more flex and is better for larger panels or spots that have flex.

A little progress. Finally got the underbody done. This involved replacing the body mounts (2) in trunk then cleaning for 3rd time with degreaser. Then scuffing the whole thing with scotch brite pads and then pre prep. And finally I used Herculiner bed coating because for the price of a gallon of it I couldn't go wrong. It is complete and hard as a rock. Very pleased with the results. I spent a very long time under this car on my back. Not only should the liner protect the underbody but I think it's going to provide a nice sound deadening aspect as well. There is a very muted thud when knocking on it as opposed to prior. Hopefully on Monday I can get the frame back under there and bolt her down with the poly mounts.
