Got around to ditching them ugly drum brakes. Used a kit from Speedway for a 7.5 g body 10 bolt and it works just fine for the 8.5. At first I was trying to put 4th gen LT1 Camaro rear disc brakes on the Nash but quickly learned that the axle flanges are way different.

And this is the speedway setup. Retails for just under $400

Also dropped some Moser axles with extended studs and seals while I was working on the rear end.

And topping it off a nice diff covers with main cap studs.

Well I need to pull the 6.0 out and rebuild it. I messed up and put arp2000 rod bolts and it spun a rod bearing end of last year. I picked up this f body LS1 for a deal and I'm going to run it till I get the 6.0 built.

I just tore it apart and wow is this thing clean
IMG_20230623_030407496_HDR.jpg

Just gapped the pistons rings for some boost .026 top and .030 bottom and added some head studs. Also learned that there is a comp cam 230/236 already in the engine. Win!!! Planning on putting my 317 head on it to drop the compression down 👇 a bit.

Almost forgot to replace the plastic rear barbell oil galley plug on the LS. Good tech tip is to drill it with a self tap screw so it easy to pull out

I used an improved racing bullet plug and what a nice piece they offer. Went right in with a little tap and they even tapped it for a small screw to help install and removal.

And the finished product

All right we got the 6.0 and t56 pulled
IMG_8427.jpg

Pulled the heads and found my "low compression piston" blownby issue.

I'm sure I cracked some ring lands off of other pistons as well.

Burnt some late night oil and finished up the LS1 for the GN. Rings gapped, big cam, dual valve springs, head studs ,317 heads for lower compression and more flow. Ready to rumble.

Alright just got the engine and transmission installed in the GN. Now for all the the accessories and what not. So much easier when it's all bolt on and no more fab work is required.

Got around to wrapping the downpipe. Used some Amazon titanium wrap and it works out pretty nice. The steel zip ties it came with is a completely different story. Straight junk! I ended up using hose clamps. Came out pretty dam good for my first time wrapping exhaust

More late night work, installed the firewall harness plate and clutch master cylinder remote reservoir holder
IMG_20230713_054247046.jpg

Much more progress, all the accessories are installed and radiator as well

And as I'm finishing up my work I realized that its pretty cold in my garage for Las Vegas. So here I am literally chilling with the GN in the garage
