Awesome car, awesome build, man. You have done the right thing with your "resto-mod" version of fixing this car. I think you could say that the people at Oldsmobile who designed and marketed your car would have put that engine in there if they had been allowed to do so. The soul of your car is strengthened by the mods you are doing. The LSx swap would have done a great disservice to the car and its heritage. Save those for the Monte Carlos and El Caminos that suffered under the power of the Mexican small blocks hahahahhaha.

The pistons, heads and cam that you have selected should really feel strong when you hit the street.

Good job!

Thank KrisW, I had to back off the rush job I was about to do on her lol. Now that I'm slowing down I can really put in the extra effort to make it a special ride, with the mods I'm doing I really only want to go let's say two levels above stock considering I do plan on driving her most of the time. It doesn't have to be an all out ball buster but I want it to handle like a modern day cruiser with some balls when it needs it ya know.
P.s. I'm mexican lol no I'm not but my some of my best friends are. Thanks for the ammo lol

During the summer months my 442 tends to turn into my daily driver and I love it. It gets a lot of looks from people around here but its also comfortable and rides great with the full Spohn suspension. Hell if mine had heat, and there wasn't so much salt on the roads due to our "winter" (we finally got our first real snow that stuck here) I would be driving it right now.

Yea my plan will similar i only need to drive in the winter when the roads are clear because i have a work van that I seem to be stuck in all the time. but thats how i fund these projects so i say keep it coming.

So I just talked to the machinist about my heads, looks like I'm gonna need all new exhaust and intake valves and guides. Just waiting to see exactly how much this is gonna cost me 🙁

What in the world are these? Oh my rebuilt head fresh from the shop!!!!!!!!!!! So I have basically brand new heads for under 1000$.

The paint is a black metallic from rustolem 600 deg looks kinda charcoal gray in the pics tho. If i wanted to go crazy I could've blasted and used filler on the vc's but this was more of a test to see how much I like em. I think I will do the same to the air cleaner assembly and then run dual flex for the snorkels. Whatcha think about these guys???
