Exactly, get the A/C and cruise control working. This is a gentleman's muscle car, not some low buck chevy:).

I cant stand the clutter in the engine compartment. And I never use AC in my cars that have it. I prefer windows open listening to the engine.

The converter seems to stall pretty low but I haven't done a brakestand as yet. It cannot be as high as 2500 just from the way it drives and its low-throttle response. I would guess 1800-2000. If I have to go back into the trans after the 4th clutches I will likely install the reman'd D5 I got from rockauto, and save this HD unit for a different build.

Couple years back I would have agreed 100% but with the traffic around here all you get with the windows down is weed smell, thumping bass and fart can mufflers,

Took it on its longest drive this spring. To the parts store and back. Runs great. Secondaries pull well if a little slow coming in. I will fix that when I Chip the ECM later on.

Today I pulled the rear window trim off, the hood bump and the wing. Preparing for a quick and dirty paint job of the hood, cabin top/ttops, and trunk lid. Basically the top of the car from the top hurst stripe and skyward.

I will likely color match to the passenger side door which is in decent shape.

My tentative plan is to remove the oxidized paint by sanding to the underlying primer, then prime and paint. I will repaint the lower black parts too. basically I am avoiding touching the decals.

Once I see how that all comes out I may do a clear on the whole car to freshen it up.

When the paint is done I can then reassemble the rest of the Ttop trims and interior trim, and apply new weatherstrip.

I am pushing to get this done and drive for the summer!

What goes in this slot that connects the hood sheet metal to the hinge? bolt and nut? self tapping screw? pastic or rubber isolator?

thanks for any help.
