That is a beautiful SS you have. I love that you have the big block in there and still have A/C.

It blows the fuse when you move the lever from off to one of the vent settings or when you turn the blower up past the lowest speeds?
I believe it only does it when I turn the vents on
 
Did you check the connector I previously mentioned which is behind or above the passenger valve cover? It has four wires and has failed on several nember's cars.
 
Haven't checked the four wire connection yet,would a relay or resistor be a possibility?
When I jump the blower motor with a hot wire to battery everything works perfect,I can't find a hvac wiring diagram on the 86 system that shows the relays and resistor setup
 
The wiring diagram in post #22 in this thread shows the resistor and the relay.
 
It's on the fiberglass a/c box. The resistor is inside, the relay mounts on it near the blower motor.

The resister looks like this and as stated has a 4 wire connector going to it.
