I won't have pics until probably Fri when I get a chance to look at it on the lift : WTF? I'm just trying to see what to look for so I have some better info to negotiate when the inspection day gets here ! LOL ! I want to (Maybe) sound like I have some knowledge about the basic Car I'm looking at !!! Thanks a bunch for passing along the info and I'm sure it'll help !!!
Blame facebook or twitter for this. If you take a crap while eating cheerios, people want to immediately post about it on Facebook. "I'm on the toilet taking a crap and eating cheerios".....
Like meth-heads in the next room just hearing someone crunching crystals on a table top, we want more than a description. We want to VISUALIZE that bathroom breakfast. We're so depraved we really need some video or pictures at least to satisfy our penchant for being able to critique and ridicule the poster for doing something "wrong" or something we wouldn't do, even if we would never do that task in the first place. Or just to drool over cool chrome and powdercoated parts. Addictions are unhealthy. We need help. F U Mark Zuckerberg, F U.... 🙂
Car looks very nice. My honest opinion is that you will pay whatever he's willing to let it go for. But my TOP DOLLAR offer for that car, without checking anything else out, is about $7-7500 range. I'm assuming everything works, and everything is there. Gotta find out if 9500 is his firm price or just a starting point. I'd fan out 70 one-hundred dollar bills in front of him and see where he goes with that.
There is something wrong with the spoiler too. Took me a minute to figure it out, but if you look closely, each of the spoiler tips are on the wrong side. The spoiler tips are directional due to the slight swooping shape of the spoiler. It isn't exactly straight across. Whoever glued the ends in, got them on "backwards". Angle of the tips don't match the trunklid lines and it's overall a bit shorter than an original wing. An original wing comes almost to the outer edge of the quarter panel tops. Go ahead, go back and look. You'll see it. Personally speaking, I'd have never put the spoiler on a vinyl top car, but that's just me. It wouldn't be a deal breaker for me, though. Just take the spoiler off and fix the ends. Repaint and go.
The spoiler to me actually looks too narrow for the car and the ends do look like they are on the wrong sides, I wouldn't want a vinyl top car anyways but the vinyl and the spoiler definitely don't go together IMO.
I still say all the offers are high. It is still 307 vin Y swirl port power with a spindly probably 2.56 7.5" rear. Are those at least 15" repo wheels?

Spitball offers. They're going to be high because it's the starting point. There's the assumption everything works and everything is perfect and the car needs NOTHING except a new owner. Real life would be more critical. $9500- no way. Not me, anyway. Somewhere south of that, it just all depends on what you're wanting the car for. If you're wanting to gut it, then no. But if you want to use it as a great start for an instant classic you can take to cruise-ins, you're likely to have the only really nice 87 Cutlass there. It's as close to getting a 442 at likely half the price. Except for that gawd-awful vinyl top. I'm never a fan of those things. $5K is totally fair spitball offer, but if my favorite 87 color was black with claret interior, I could go a little further for it. But that's just me. I buy cars to keep, not to flip, so spending a little more upfront and then only buying gas/oil/car polish for it would make it worth it.
