man y'all make me wanna get some 442 door panels now I just wish my upholsterer would be able to replace the chrome strip because that material on the back would be suede in no time them panels remind me of some Jordan's.
Yessir! Thats the plan right there. I sprayed em up so I could get an idea of how it would look. Love it. And its gonna "Clean" the interior up a bit until I get the cashflow for the interior hookup. I have another dash waiting to be wrapped also.
Worked on the carb today. I had a line hooked up wrong. This carb has alot more going on than the 4150 that came with the motor. The PCV hookup is in the front of the carb. The other carb has the hookup on the side. I check back in the manual and corrected that. Car was running rich big time. My eyes were burnin. Broke the light out, capped the carb and vac can off and set the timing to 12 deg btdc. I still need to get the total timing. Reading up and watching vids on timing to get a better understanding of how it works. But no more burning eyes. It was at around 30 deg btdc. That trippped me out cuz with the old carb it was right at 10 deg. Hmmm... I still have a lot to learn about all of this but its fun. I also checked the floats. Gas is sitting right at the bottom of the opening. Holley supplied some "glass sights" but I didnt want to pop em in cuz I thought they would yellow. I gues I could use em to set the floats if needed. The last thing I need to adjust is the choke. Its not opening all the way when the motor is at operating temp. Seems pretty easy to do. I have to tap the lil red arm to get the choke to open, then the idel drops. Fast idle speed is at 1500. When i flick the red arm, choke opens and the idle drops to around 680-700. But when i tap the gas, choke closes and the idle goes back up to 1500. Thhis is after 7 minutes of warm up and at operating temp. I'll check the manual to see what to do....
