What is the reasoning for using 98-05 2wd spindles? I have a set of 2wd 1995 S-10 spindles and would like to use them for this brakes upgrade.
Any way to use my 95 S-10 spindles?
Most likely the spindles you have for the 95 look like this...see the shaft on the spindle.

The blazer spindle looks like this below, and uses the hub like in the pic below that. This allows you to change rotors without repacking the bearings, and also gets you dual piston calipers.

Permanent Temporary
And adapter plates from a variety of suppliers can move the calipers outward to work with up to 14" rotors.

Yes, since I am anal when it comes to my cars, I couldn't just leave the plastic cut off ABS connector sitting there. I had a fellow Buick member make these for me after I provided a drawing for him. Plate looks nice and clean, even though you won't see it, I'm glad I did it.

whats up with the spacers?

What spacers?

There are 2 reasons I can see where spacers are required:

1.) on smaller/older wheels, if the calipers hits the back side of the wheel web, a thin wheel spacer might be needed

or

2.) If you don't use the dust shields, you still have to space the bearing out the equivalent distance or the rotor can rub on the caliper or anti rattle clips

I didn't look back at all 19 pages, but there is something that should be noted: check the upper control arm clearance to the caliper at full lock. I had to grind some out, but I used drop spindles, too.

this is prolly a dumb question, but does this alter front height in any way my 87 is all stock and dont want this to make the car sit any higher that it already does.

No, ride height is the same. But while the spindles are off, you can swap in tall lower ball joints, which will lower the car about .75" and improve suspension and steering geometry.
