98~05 Blazer brake upgrade! DONE!

The only bad thing about using the stock disc/drum master cylinder is they usually have residual pressure valves in the outlet for the drum brakes. Using it for rear discs can make the calipers drag the pads as the Pistons won't go back as they should. Also, using the stock disc/drum proportioning valve will drastically restrict pressure to the rear; possibly to the point where the calipers will not or barely work. Disc systems typically run almost full pressure to the rear.
g-body brake systems DO NOT have residual pressure valves. not in the master, not in the combination valve, no where. let me state this again, there are no residual pressure valves in our cars.

My z06 6 piston front and 4 piston caliper stop very well with a 1” bore wilwood mc and the vacuum setup for my 87 GN

Other than the spindles, are all the other components of this swap from a 4 wheel drive.

That quarter inch makes a huge difference. It not only adds surface area but the dual piston caliper doubles the spread on the pads. Ever stopped at a red light going 70 mph with stock brakes. So not only do I believe the 1/4 inch makes a difference I believe it makes all the difference. Good write up .
