AC Advice Needed

I am running a combination of 91-93 Caprice V8 and 88-92 V8 F body serpentine items. The 2 Caprice pieces off hand that were different were the water pump pulley (which is smaller) and the fan and clutch (F bodies ran electric fans on the cars with the serpentine set ups)
I used the F body compressor hoses as they do not have the ugly muffler that many of the V8 Oldsmobiles had. I used the F body liquid line (from the evaporator to the condenser) as it had the high side charging port in it. The condenser is an aftermarket one for a G body with the Buick V6 or Oldsmobile V8 as they have the lines on the passenger side. The evaporator and drier are originals for the car (78 Malibu). My car still uses the original thermostatic cycling switch that has the bulb attached to the evaporator as opposed to the pressure switch attached to the drier. I am running R12 in mine.
Hey, you said you used the liquid line from an F body as well. I am trying to source that same line but when I am looking at the lines they appear to attach to the evaporator in a vertical orientation versus the horizontal orientation on my evap. Did you have to bend the line or am I missing something?

I did carefully bend if to fit. I can snap some pictures after work to show you how I did it.

Went by a hose making shop today and the guy said they can make the hose out of rubber. Ever seen a rubber high pressure ac line?

Not on a G body. They were all metal. What are you planning to do for your high side service port? I used the F body line so I would have one on mine.
The fitting the guy showed me had a port on it. I'm gonna try to find a hard line but it's proving quite difficult at the moment.

Plenty of high pressure ac hoses. The high pressure line from the compressor to the condenser has a rubber hose in it, because if it was metal all the way it would fatigue and break otherwise so it has to flex. I work on ag equipment for a living, and there are many applications where either they are already all rubber lines, to some where they have kits to do away with steel lines and make them all rubber. I've even seen on older equipment where the rubber hoses are held on with regular hose clamps, of course with special fittings. When I finally get my elcamino back together and the duramax in it, i'll probably make rubber lines for it, because they will be easier than making steel or aluminum lines and attaching rubber to them for flex.
