In the process or reattaching my AC in my 85 442. Air was great when removed. Car only has about 70000 miles on it.

Many engines later, now running a sbc 383 (yeah I know...) and am going to hook the hoses up, convert to 134 and see if I have any leaks.

using a brand new GM performance compressor that came with the serpentine kit. Unfortunate my stock AC hose assembly doesn’t quite fit, the inlet outlet holes in the back of the compressor are slightly different (and one is deeper, compared to both depths same on the Olds hose).

anyone else run into this problem? What hose did you use that fit (and wasn’t too long/short)?
thanks!

I think you need a line from an early 90s Camaro. I have the same serpentine setup on the crate motor I have in my Malibu wagon. I need to buy the condensor from a Cutlass and everyone on all the threads Ive read on all the different forums say the Camaro line is the one to use. You might want to ask about that. Its more compact than the Olds line

The Cutlass hose will work fine. The Camaro hose assembly is sleeker since it doesn't have a muffler like the Cutlass one but is a bit long on the high side. I went with the Cutlass hose on my car (SBC with 3rd gen Camaro front accessory drive).

I went through old air products. I used r4 vertical adapter pad, then just made up a hoses to fit. used a fitting with high side port like factory did

It might work, or it may not, but those adapter kits...I'd shy away from them if possible. They have been known to blow out. Not saying it would, just saying it's happened. Maybe it has something to do with the installer, but...

If'n it were me, I'd get a used Camaro style hose setup like was mentioned, then cut the hose compressor mounting section off of it and have it grafted to your Oldsmobile hoses. It'll fit like factory and you'll get to use the stepped 134a compressor.

Never was a fan of those washers.
