Alternator top bracket question

I was just giving an idea on what style of bracket can be used. Those brackets are a simple design and many different versions to use with different applications...

Years ago, I had a '79 Malibu that had a lot of power accessories. I believe that it had the factory 85A alternator on it. The alternator was actually physically larger than the standard 55A alternator, and both the upper and lower brackets were different. The upper bracket was still rounded on the top, but it was shaped differently, more angular than the standard upper bracket.

Agreed. I would look at Chevy full size vans. They had a lot of accessories and probably the bigger brackets and alternator. I cannot personally say I've ever noticed this myself though

I guess finding a top bracket from a pre-serpentine belt van that used a large high output alternator....or maybe a police version Caprice....something in that order.
The only thing is...you can't find that kind of stuff in Norway..
In the states (or Canada), you can always peruse the junkyards and find something that would work...or could be made to work.

Not sure if this is what kind of thing you are looking for, but on my 1st sbc I used march bracket setup like this with long water pump and alternator on p/s.
