Alternator upgrade

If you looking for more amps I bought an upgraded alternator putting 100 amp from a local rebuilder....

What is the output rating for the stock alternator? And is it possibly to swap a "CS" series alternator in the place the stock alternator? I know it is as I did it with my last cutlass just can't remember what I got it off of.

it helped a little bit but I was trying to do it on an 84 Cutlass with a 307 not sbc bu def on the right track. but it did answer the question as to what they came on;1988 Olds Firenza 2.0L engine with EFI and AC; Autozone part number for it is DLG1346-5-11

I have a alt from a 1995 firbird(DLG1400-6-4) at the house it looks as if it would fit in the location of out alternator on a Cutlass and offers 140 amp only prob is that it has a serpentine pulley.

as long as the direction of rotation is the same you should be able to just swap the pulleys.
the cs-130 is a pretty simple swap, unfortunately i don't remember the company, but there is an adaptor plug for them. i think i found it on summit's site when i swapped in my s-belt system.

no i used someone else, but it looks right and they look like gm weatherpak connectors so it'd be good.

In what direction does the alternator on the 307 rotate?

Clockwise, same as the engine.

I just bought a cs144 series 140 amp for mine. Used 95 Roadmaster as the application. I bought a used one from the boneyard for a core, I wanted a reman so it's fresh looking. The reman cost me $95 at O'Reilly's. I was able to get the electrical adaptor through Napa. Part #EC82. Just swap your old pulley, plug it in, and go.

Also note, with serpentine belt setups, only the smooth pulleys turn opposite of engine rotation. Any accessory with a ribbed pulley turns the same as the engine. Most, if not all, domestic V8's run clockwise at the crank.
