We have a 72 Vega with a big block 396 in it!A long time ago in a galaxy far away, I saw a Chevy Vega with a stroked SBC (383) at the track. That was a fast car!

I guess the galaxy isn't so far away after all.We have a 72 Vega with a big block 396 in it!
I've got a 350 Buick in my Regal. Not too out there in the realm of odd g body engines, but you certainly hardly ever see one. It's as easy as a 305 to a 350 chevy.
Yeah. Not many people choose a 305... why did you? Especially with all the CC stuff. With the Buick it is literally 100% drop in from a 231. Same mounts, plugs and wires, sensors and senders, brackets, timing cover and water pump, everything. If your car is in good enough shape you wont even need to go to the parts store for anything more than fluids. Plus I wanted a Buick powered Buick. In my mind, it's like putting a 350 chevy in a 1970 Buick Skylark. just seems wrong. I'm a purist I suppose. Is yours a stock 305 or did you pump it up a little?I swapped a HO 305 in my Regal, cheap upgrade over the 231. It is a complete swap, including the ccc and low emission gear which probably makes it more unusual as it seems many don't bother with that.
