Battery relocation

I used #2 welding wire also, then mounted a junction stud under the hood for all the power accessories to power off of. Mounted a starter solenoid in the trunk, so the #2 is only hot when cranking. Fused #8 from junction stud back to kill switch. The kill switch needs to be a 4 terminal switch to kill the alternator power.

Don't over think it. Welding cable is a great wire. But #2 wire will work. You can't have too many grounds. Secure the starter wire correctly so it doesn't rub, scuff or scrape on anything.
 
years ago i mounted my remote solenoid in the trunk right next to the battery. that made the cable that ran the length of the car hot only when starting.
